The Maruti Suzuki eVitara will deliver an ARAI-certified range of up to 543km from its larger 61kWh battery pack, placing it among the longest-range electric SUVs in its class.

Maruti’s first all-electric model for the Indian market will be offered with two battery options — 49kWh and 61kWh — both driving a front-wheel motor setup. Bookings are set to open soon, with a launch planned for early 2026, along with subscription and Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) schemes to make ownership more flexible.

Three variants will be available: Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The base Delta trim pairs the 49kWh unit with a 142 bhp motor producing 192.5 Nm of torque, while the Zeta and Alpha versions come with the 61 kWh pack and a more potent 172 bhp output. The e Vitara has also secured a five-star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult and child protection.

The e Vitara has also secured a five-star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult and child protection. In crash testing, it recorded 31.49 out of 32 points for adult safety and 43 out of 49 for child safety.

Standard safety kit includes seven airbags, Level 2 ADAS, tyre pressure monitoring, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.

Styling cues draw heavily from the earlier EVX concept with sharp headlamps, Y-shaped DRLs, bold cladding around the wheel arches and lower doors, and a connected tail-lamp treatment. The EV measures 4,275mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,640mm in height, with a 5.2-metre turning radius.

Inside, the cabin design is distinct from other Maruti models, centering around a floating 10.25-inch touchscreen paired with a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster. The dashboard gets rectangular AC vents, a flat-bottom two-spoke steering wheel and physical climate controls.

Equipment highlights include keyless entry, push-button start and an auto-dimming IRVM on the base trim, with higher variants adding ventilated front seats, 19-inch alloys, a 10-way powered driver’s seat, wireless charging, an Infinity audio system and front fog lamps.

The e Vitara will go up against rivals such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, VinFast VF6, Tata Curvv EV and Mahindra BE6 in India’s growing electric SUV segment.
